5 December 2015
Finally, it was time to leave and head north on our 2015 Christmas holidays adventure. The plan this year is to head north to Stradbroke Island, ending up at Bargara to see in the New Year, with a few spots in between. After the New Year, we’ll see where the breeze takes us before returning home in mid-January.
We left home before 7, planning to get most of the way to QLD on Saturday, thus only leaving us with a short drive on Sunday to make the ferry by 1pm across to Straddie. I’d picked out an overnight stop a little north of Grafton, along the Summerland Way. I’d driven past this spot many times over a long time, but never actually stopped here before. After picking up some final supplies in Grafton, we were here mid-afternoon and had a nice easy afternoon doing a quick set up.
This was a really pretty stop, and we really enjoyed it for an overnighter. There was hardly any traffic on the road overnight, and the surroundings were quite pretty.
We got moving pretty early on Sunday morning to ensure we had plenty of time up our sleeves for our ferry.
