26-29 October, 2012
Keen followers of our blog (are there any out there?!) may recognise that we’ve been here before. We had a good time, and loved the look of the waterfront sites that are right on Lake Macquarie. So when my parents were heading south into Sydney and suggested that we meet them somewhere for a weekend, this Big 4 came immediately to mind.
We met them after work on Friday evening and quickly got set up. It was a little windy and cool, but once we were set up and out of the breeze we had a pleasant evening. It was great to see Mum and Dad, and we spent that evening finding out about their year long trip.
We decided to try Ella on the top bunk over this weekend, as we had previously had the bunks side by side on the ground, which took up a big chunk of space. She loved being on top, and we left a window open for her so that she could look out over the water when she woke up in the morning. She didn’t fall out so our new found floor space will be around for the long term!
The next few days were spent relaxing by the lake and enjoying the view. The kids did some bike riding – in fact Lucas was on fire on his ‘Yellow Bike’, without training wheels… riding all over the caravan park!
Dave, Kate and their kids joined us for dinner on Saturday evening and we had a great time catching up with them.
Despite taking Monday off work, all too soon it was time to be packing up and heading home. Another 3 nights in the camper down, and we still love every moment.
Total: 113 Nights
