Jilliby Downs

10-12 January, 2014

We were looking forward to finishing our time away with 3 nights camping in the “back yard” at Dave and Kate’s place at Jilliby. A nice quick and easy setup as we arrived and we were able to start sampling some of those beers I picked up at the Hunter.

This was my favourite of the evening. Beautiful beer!

As is always the case when we arrive at their place (or they at ours), the kids all disappeared and we were able to relax and catch up. Saturday was spent doing a whole heap of nothing! Just relaxing, chatting and eating. The kids had a swim and spent heaps of time playing.

Sunday we headed up to Speers Point park where there’s a great bike track for the kids to enjoy, as well as a whole heap of other play equipment to wear them out. Back to Jilliby again for a quiet Sunday night before we had to pack up and head home in the morning.

Packed up, ready to head home again.

Our 3 nights here brings our running total to 140 nights in about 3 and a half years with the camper. So probably about 40 nights a year on average – or just under 6 weeks. Pretty good going I reckon!
