23-24 September, 2014
We packed up and left Echuca on a beautiful warm morning ready for the short drive up to Swan Hill where we were meeting my parents. Originally we were planning on finding a free site somewhere not too far from Swan Hill, however when they offered to pay for us for a couple nights we had a change of plan!
We pulled up into a beautiful river front spot and got ourselves set up fairly quickly. We made the most of the warm afternoon and took the kids out to a large playground just near a new housing development. The kids met some new friends quickly, whilst we had some afternoon nibbles and drinks with mum and dad to catch up on the last few weeks news.
The following day was a fairly quiet day doing some re-stocking of supplies in town. There wasn’t much else to Swan Hill. There is a historical precinct, however, unlike Echuca, this one was run commercially and cost a small fortune to get in. Needless to say, after our great experience in Echuca, we gave the “Pioneer Settlement” a miss!
Some rain came in during the afternoon and persisted for most of the night, however, when time came the next morning to pack up and move on, it was nice and sunny.
As far as caravan parks go, this was really nice, with some great river front sites. Glad we didn’t have to pay for it though as they know how to charge!
After our 2 nights here to take our total to 168 nights, we’re off to the Murray Sunset National Park.
